Faith stories from DBC members
Joy
"Through all my moving around, God has taught me to say that 'my God is sufficient in every situation!' I am finding that God does not send us on a journey for which He does not equip us well. He is gracious, and loving, and has made sure that I have the skills in place for His next placement. It says in 2 Cor 4:7: But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. This is certainly true: I have had to depend totally on HIM."

"Brought up in a church-going family, I reached my mid-teens questioning whether there was more to faith than I had experienced. Meeting a group of young people who had that 'something', I prayed for whatever it was they had. Soon after, Jesus became, and still is a living reality to me."
John
"Today's uncertain world is full of insecure people, many of them relying on money, possessions, status, or something else to give life some meaning and security. Experience has taught me that God has all my life's circumstances, large and small, in His control, even when it doesn't always seem like it to me! With His hand on my life I know I can do no better than to trust Him with my future."

"I could speak for hours about how God has blessed me and changed my life. I could list the prayers He's answered and the countless times He has healed me when I have been sick; I could speak of the times He has lifted me and rescued me from situations which seemed impossible for me to resolve myself. But the most significant thing for me is that God gives me purpose and knowing Jesus Christ makes everything make sense. In Him I can really be myself and live life to its' fullest. That is why I love Jesus Christ and I live to worship Him. He makes me, me."
