WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR ME
On the 8th December 2006 I went on a weekend course at Ashburnham Place, near Battle in East Sussex, run by Tony Horsfall. It was entitled “Men & God”. I went there very worried and scared as I don`t ever do this sort of thing and I don`t normally mix or like to be away from my comfort zone. But when it was mentioned in church God told me to go so I obeyed. I am glad I did because a miracle has happened. God has healed me of so many things.
I had Multiple Sclerosis and could not walk very far without pain or falling. I had to use a wheelchair and spend most of the time indoors, in bed and in pain. I was very overweight. I spent a lot of the day sleeping and was on loads of tablets. In contrast I lay awake most of the night and was very depressed which again was only controlled by more pills. I had a broken breast bone and lots of problems with bowel disorders. I was very far from God and could not understand why I had to suffer so much pain.
While at Ashburnham the men on the course prayed for me and laid hands on me. I am now free from pain, my broken bone that held my ribs in place has been healed and I can now walk unaided without pain or falling. I now sleep all night which was impossible before as I was in so much pain. I have also lost weight. I have been able to work in our local DBC Greengrocer`s shop and also help in the church Resource Centre. I am currently doing an on-line course involving Ministry and Study.
God has released me from many things that had burdened me and hindered my worship and my love for Him. I now have a close relationship with the Lord and I can show my love; singing, worshipping praying out loud and in service to the community. I have been shown where the Lord wants me.
So I ask you to come to the Lord and release those things that are inside you. It`s scary but great when you do. Look at me. I am completely healed now and have stopped taking tablets and been pain free and walking for more than 2 years. I am a great sign of what our Heavenly Father can do for you all today. Speak to someone, actively seek prayer and praise His Holy Name.

Since Andy's life changed dramatically three years ago at a residential weekend at Ashburnham, http://www.ashburnham.org.uk/ he has been organising events to involve men from the church and on the fringes of church life, to find ways to fellowship together.
He has combined his army cooking skills and recent training in organising two men's successful week ends away, in October 2007 & 2008, and a further family event in January 2009. These have proved usedful opportunities to get to know each other better through eating playing, and discussion, as wll as worship and teaching
He has organised a planning group to take these opportunities forward for the whole church and called them "Timeout."
