The vision of Downs Baptist Church is of a community existing to bring joyful worship and praise to the living God, to minister to the needs of his people, to be a demonstration of his kingdom rule and to see it extended in the area of Woodingdean.

It is a vision to see every man woman and child in our area repeatedly presented with the good news of Jesus Christ in relevant ways.

It is a vision of welcoming hundreds of new believers into the family of God over the next ten years, seeing them come into wholeness and healing and enabling them to become disciples of Jesus Christ and growing into Christian maturity through applying God's Word in every day life.

It is a vision of a community bound together in fellowship and purpose through gatherings for prayer, corporate worship, preaching and Bible-based teaching, and a growing network of small groups, providing teaching, training and accountability.

It is a vision of a church family where every member is valued and encouraged to discover their unique gifts and ministries, and is trained or enabled to use them to their full potential.

It is a vision of a church for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest.

It is a vision of a church with a heart for mission, where every member is equipped to share their faith with others and is involved in ongoing support for mission, committed to releasing and supporting members in mission work throughout the world as the Lord leads.

It is a vision of a church home, a worship and resource centre, based in Woodingdean, but serving the wider area, providing a base for corporate worship, 24 hour prayer, teaching, training, social provision and administration.
